Associate Professor. Ng Wan Sing, (Head
and Founder,
CIMIL)
Graduated from the National University of Singapore with a B.Eng and a M.Eng and Imperial
College of Science, Technology and Medicine with a PhD, A/P Ng W.S. is currently a
lecturer at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU. His research
interests include medical robotics, computer assistance in surgery and safety of medical
robots. |
Associate Professor. Ling Keck Voon, (Co-investigator)
Graduated from the National University of Singapore and Oxford University with a B.Eng and
PhD respectively. A/P Ling K.V. is currently a lecturer at the School of Electrical and
Electronics Engineering, NTU. His research interests include the theory and applications
of digital control and signal processing. |
Assistant
Professor Shi Daming ( Co-investigator)
Graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology, China with a B.Eng in electric engineering in 1991
and a PhD in mechatronic automation in 1997. His second PhD of computer science was conferred by University of Southampton in 2002. Currently, he is
an Assistant Professor in School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological
University. His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, machine learning and neural networks. |

Associate Professor. Kwoh Chee Kong
He received his B.Eng degrees in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc in
Industrial and System Engineering from National University of Singapore in
1987 and 1991, respectively. He received his Ph.D. degree from Imperial
College, University of London in 1995. His doctoral work was in
'Probabilistic Reasoning from Correlated Objective Data'. A/P. Kwoh Chee
Keong is an Associate Professor in the Division of Information System and
the Division of Bioengineering. He is also the Programme Director for MSc
in Bioinformatics. His research interests include medical imaging,
reasoning under uncertainty and learning from data. |

Dr.
Zhang Yongde, Assistant Research Professor (URMC)
He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology, China with the B.Eng, M.Eng and Ph.D degrees in 1988, 1993 and 1999
respectively. From Oct. 1999 to May 2001, he worked in City University of
Hong Kong as a Research Associate. From Aug. 1999 to Dec. 2001, he was a
Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Beijing Institute of Technology. From
Sep. 2002 to Oct. 2004, He is a Professor of Harbin University of Science
and Technology. he is currently a Research Assistant Professor in URMC
(University of Rochester Medical Center). He is now working on RAPID, a
joint project of URMC and NTU as the hardware representative. His research
interests include mechanical engineering, medical robotics, and
mechatronics. |
Gao Xiaobin, Research Assistant,
(NUH)
He received his B.Eng degree( 1st class honor) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University. Currently, he is a research assistant at Singapore University Hospital, working on the project on automated anorectal ultrasound system. His research interest includes biomedical robotics and mechatronics. |
Shao Wei, Research Sicentist (SGH)
Shao Wei received her B.Eng on Biomedical Engineering, B.Eng on on Engineering Economics in 1999, and M. Eng on Biomedical Engineering in 2002 from Tianjin University. She is now a Ph.D student in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Nanayang Technological University, working on the deformable registration for the robotic prostate biopy project. She is also a part-time research scientist of Singapore General Hospital for this project. |
Xiao Gaoyu, Research Scientist (TTSH).
He received his B.Eng and M.Eng degrees from Xidian University, Xi'an, China, in 1994 and 1997,
respectively. He graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong
University, China, with PhD degree in 2000. He then worked at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, China as a
software engineer. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dept. Electrical and Computer
Engineering, National University of Singapore. From 2003 to 2005, he was a research scientist with
Institute for Infocomm Research and Bioinformatics Institute, A-STAR, Singapore. Currently, he is working
on human error free ultrasound calibration and rectal sphincter image processing. His research interests are
computer vision, pattern recognition and computer graphics, esp. in biomedical applications. |
